Hi everyone. I want to apologize that I missed posting for the last two days of this contest. For those who may not know, Wednesday evening my youngest sister was admitted to the PICU at the area children's hospital. It has been a Christmas for the record books for sure. She is not doing great and there has been no diagnosis as of right now. They are just treating symptoms at this point.

So needless to say posting on here hasn't even been on my radar honestly. But...I was reminded in an email today that my raffle is complete. And I was like oh yeah!!

Found the recipe from yesterday 😀 Had to call up my mom and get it but that's OK. Here it is.

Turkish Cookies
1 cup sugar
2 cups butter (you can use 1/2 butter 1/2 margarine)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp salt
6 cups flour
1/4 pound chopped almonds
2 tbsp cinnamon

Cream sugar and butter till light; add eggs, salt, flour, almonds and cinnamon. Mix together well. It will be thick so you'll need to use your hands. When all mixed, press in to an 8x8 inch pan. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

Next day, cut dough in to four strips, approximately 2x8 inches. Slice cookies to desired thickness and bake at 350 for about 25 minutes or until slightly brown at edges. Yields about 10 dozen cookies.

Christmas is COMING!! YAY!!

I know you all know that already but, lol, I'm getting very excited about it. Made my caramel popcorn last night, we have our gift exchange in less than an hour here at work, our staff luncheon follows that, I'm going to see Star Wars this afternoon, and then I'm officially off till after the New Year!! YAY!!!

My sister and I were talking last night about baking and what cookie we want to make in the next few days. My grandmother is Norwegian and she has always made the most AMAZING baked goods and Christmas cookies. One in particular is a kind that NO ONE else makes and I've always wanted to learn how to make them. But, you need a special iron to make them. They are called Krumkake (pronounced crumb-caga). They are AMAZING. She used to make this awesome peach cream to go inside of them too. AHHH, so good!! One day, I will visit her and learn how to make them, and buy myself the crazy expensive iron to make them...lol...but that's not today.

My mom always used to make Turkish cookies at Christmas. They were one of my favorites. So a few years ago, I decided to start making them :) I don't remember if I did last year or not, but they are on my list to make this year. Slivered almonds & spices in a yummy buttery cookie. :) And I have searched up and down for the recipe and can't seem to find it 😥 I will find it though and post it when I do. But I don't want to skip another day. So...when I get it I'll let you know.

Less than 4 full days left till Christmas. WOW!!

Do you have all your Christmas shopping done yet? I have 1 more purchase to finalize and I have to go pick up one more gift and then I'm DONE!!! YAY. And I even have most of them wrapped, which I believe is a record for me. I generally spend Christmas Eve doing that, lol.
