Good morning everyone!

Do you ever have days where you KNOW that if you don't plan ahead to stay on track with your "diet" that you'll MOST DEFINITELY fall off?

Today was that day for me.

Tonight for work we have an event at a brand new bakery!! YUM & YIKES>>>all in one! LOL I'm looking forward to it but I was also dreading it because I KNOW I had to make some plan ahead decisions to be able to even potentially "indulge" in anything there tonight (and yes, they will have free food, this is both the upside and downside to my job).

Also, our very first stand-alone Starbucks has now opened in my town! And...I'm an addict (not really, I just really like it) :/ Plus my momma works there so I had to go support her on her first day today!

So this is what I did:

  • Got up earlier today than usual so I could do my devotions (which by the way were AMAZING today) and get my challenge group posts in.
  • Researched foods and beverages at Starbucks that would fall within my "diet". Which this only took less than 10 minutes to do.
  • Went to Starbucks and STUCK WITH my choices, even though that chocolate croissant looked AMAZING! What I ordered: black cold-brew iced coffee, low-fat turkey bacon & egg white English muffin. And for lunch, a salad.
  • SUCCESS!!

And the best part, I had so much extra time this morning that I was actually able to sit down at Starbucks and enjoy my breakfast instead of having to bring it to work and eat while I go through my emails for the morning. Might not sound too exciting, but I was excited about it, LOL. It gave me time to slow down and just enjoy the morning, and my food. So often I'm in such a rush that even when I choose healthy food I don't take the time to savor and enjoy it. I need to start doing that more often.

Now, I feel like because of my healthy choices this morning, I can potentially try some of the goodies that may be available tonight (in moderation of course).

Have any planning ahead tips that help you stay on track?
